About NINET

The Non-Invasive Neurostimulation Therapies (NINET) Laboratory at the University of British Columbia (UBC) focuses on researching the clinical applications of non-invasive neurostimulation therapies. The laboratory is committed to investigating the most relevant research questions that can translate safely, rapidly, and efficiently into clinical practice.

Our Mission

Our focus is to alleviate the suffering of those suffering from a variety of mental illnesses. We actively engage in collaborations locally, across Canada, and internationally to further the impact of our research and expand the depths of our knowledge. Additionally, we work with and investigate the different mechanisms by which non-invasive neurostimulation treatments work. Beyond clinical research, we also believe making knowledge accessible to the public is a powerful tool to enhance health and well-being within our communities. Thus, we proactively work to make this knowledge available on our website, through scientific meetings and publications, and public talks. To help accomplish all this, we provide educational opportunities to trainees through their involvement in research. Our goal is to pioneer the skills of the first generation of formally trained intervention psychiatrists in Canada.
